Grand Canyon Youth Art & Interpretation Programming

Under my internship with Grand Canyon National Park, I had the opportunity to work with Grand Canyon Youth (GCY) on a river trip from Lees Ferry to Diamond Creek. My goal was to deliver interpretive ranger programs and watercolor workshops to the youth and educate them about the Indigenous connections to our ancestral homelands! One of the workshops included working with watercolors.

We had over 1,000 visitors stop by our gallery during the span of 8 days. Meranden and I also planned hosted more events at Grand Canyon National Park during this month.

At the end of the course, we held a group exhibition for the youth artists where they sold over half of their inventory.
